Emerge is currently recruiting qualified candidates for a direct hire Production Supervisor job in Winsted, CT for our client, global provider of advanced engineering solutions for the aerospace and transportation industries. The Production Supervisor will provide supervision to the shop floor personnel to meet business objectives, working directly with the Operations Manager and other departments to meet production and quality goals in a fast-paced machining environment. Candidates must have five (5)  or more years of experience in manufacturing supervision and two (2) or more years of experience in a machining environment. Our client is growing and seeking candidates that can grow with the company!


Shifts Available: 1st and 2nd 
Salary: $100,000 to $120,000 per year depending on experience and shift.
Bonus: Annual bonus targetted at 5%

Responsibilities for the Production Supervisor Job in Winsted, CT include:
  • Supervise shop floor personnel by planning and leading meetings, managing staffing levels, assigning work priorities, and motivating and coaching employees to maximize quality, productivity, and morale. Identify cross-training needs and support certified operator requirements and overall employee development.
  • Performance & Disciplinary Management, conduct performance appraisals, provide constructive feedback, and maintain appropriate documentation for all disciplinary actions.
  • Direct the training and orientation of employees to ensure familiarity with EHS rules, company policies, procedures, and work instructions/quality procedures, ensuring they are understood and actively utilized.
  • Review production and operating reports to resolve manufacturing and maintenance issues, minimize costs, and prevent operational delays. Respond to emergencies, troubleshoot production problems, and initiate corrective actions to address deviations affecting schedules, costs, and quality.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality control to improve operational effectiveness, implement continuous improvement initiatives, reduce setup times, and recommend measures to optimize machine and equipment conditions.
  • Enforce adherence to company policies, procedures, and corporate/plant protocols across all assigned employees. Serve as a knowledgeable and positive resource for questions regarding business initiatives and regulatory requirements.
  • Resource & Inventory Management, requisition necessary tools, equipment, and supplies. Review department inventory positions, including raw materials, to support uninterrupted operations.
  • Record manufacturing and cell board data manually or by computer as required.
  • Actively participate in, promote, and comply with all EHS programs and policies, achieving annually outlined EHS metrics. Perform other duties as needed to meet business objectives.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, High School or equivalent at a minimum.
  • Must have 5 or more years of supervisory experience in manufacturing and MUST have 2 or more years of experience in a machining manufacturing industry. 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, coaching teams members to meet goals and expectations.
  • Exceptional problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which requires U.S. person status; ITAR defines U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., "Green Card Holder"), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
