Production Specialist Lead
Location: San Diego, CA 92121, USA Shift: 3rd Shift (10:00 PM 6:30 AM) Pay Rate: $39.19/hr Duration: 6 Months
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Production Specialist Lead provides daily work direction to manufacturing personnel on 3rd shift Assembly/Production, supporting departmental goals, mentoring staff, and stepping in for the supervisor as needed. This role also manages projects of substantial variety and complexity, applying independent judgment to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Team Leadership & Coordination
Coordinate daily work direction for manufacturing personnel
Assist the supervisor in developing and executing action plans to meet departmental goals
Coach, train, and motivate manufacturing personnel to enhance morale and performance
Provide input for performance appraisals and conduct periodic coaching
Train new manufacturing personnel joining the team
Act as liaison between manufacturing and support groups (engineering, technicians, production control, and management)
Temporarily assume supervisor responsibilities in their absence
Quality & Compliance:
Disposition and process discrepant product or material for rework or MRB per established procedures
Maintain thorough understanding of operations support systems, including traceability and documentation systems
Project Management:
Plan and organize project assignments of substantial variety and complexity
Establish and maintain schedules for projects and milestones
Set priorities across project assignments
Solve complex problems requiring extensive interpretation of procedures and practices
Select methods and practices using ingenuity, creativity, and independent judgment
Propose solutions and make decisions independently on project matters
Develop and implement projects from concept through completion
QUALIFICATIONS Education:
High School Diploma / GED with equivalent combination of education and work experience, or
Associate's Degree (or ~13 years equivalent); two-year degree or some college credit preferred
Experience
Minimum 6 years of related work experience
Extensive knowledge of business concepts, procedures, and practices, with complete understanding of core fundamentals in the functional area and working knowledge of related disciplines
Ability to utilize and interpret advanced data for documentation, analysis, and complex problem resolution
Experience operating within a quality system environment (note: failure to properly perform tasks may result in noncompliance with governmental regulations)
Demonstrated ability to perform highly complex or specialized project-based assignments independently
Experience designing, developing, or modifying area-specific processes or procedures
Strong judgment, initiative, and creative troubleshooting skills, with a track record of recommending continuous quality improvements
