POSITION: Production Supervisor
SHIFT:
Monday - Friday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm (OT as required)
PAY RATE:
$28.00 - $36.00+ per hour (DOE) + Full Benefit Package

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Production Supervisor 2 is responsible for the leadership, coordination, and day-to-day oversight of assigned production areas/departments with increased accountability for performance, capability building, and cross-functional coordination. This role ensures safe, efficient operations; meets quality and delivery targets; develops people; and leads Continuous Improvement (CI) activities to improve processes, metrics, and culture.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Team Leadership & Supervision
  • Embrace and demonstrate the qualities of the Minnkota Windows Game Changer definition.
  • Engage in team based lean and continuous improvement activities, helping to streamline workflows and drive a culture of operational excellence.
  • Build and sustain a high-performance team environment, model professionalism, and accountability.
  • Directly supervise team members in assigned areas/departments; set expectations and drive results.
  • Provide structured coaching, performance feedback, and corrective guidance as needed.
Production Planning, Execution & Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Plan and coordinate production schedules and resources to achieve safety, quality, and on-time delivery goals.
  • Actively monitor workflows, identify bottlenecks, and drive actions to improve throughput and stability.
  • Coordinate with planning, maintenance, quality, and other functions to resolve issues quickly and prevent recurrence.
  • Manage and control rework to ensure effective containment and timely reintroduction into production.
Training & Capability Development
  • Oversee onboarding and training for assigned areas; ensure consistent application of standard work.
  • Implement and manage cross-training to build flexibility and reduce coverage risk.
  • Evaluate skill levels, identify training needs, and foster professional growth.
Safety, Quality, and Workplace Standards
  • Promote and enforce safety compliance and safe work practices, lead by example.
  • Ensure adherence to SOPs and quality standards; lead response to quality issues in assigned areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and workplace standards across assigned areas.
Performance Ownership & Metrics
  • Meet or exceed on-time delivery targets and production efficiency goals for assigned areas.
  • Monitor, report, and act on daily/weekly performance metrics; drive accountability for results.
  • Support inventory management by reducing waste and ensuring accurate material usage.
Administrative Responsibilities
  • Ensure accurate timekeeping; manage time off requests; maintain proper staffing coverage.
  • Support inventory activities (cycle counts/physical counts) and operational reporting as needed.
Continuous Improvement (CI)
  • Lead CI activities in assigned areas (e.g., prioritizing improvement opportunities, facilitating kaizen/problem-solving, driving standardization, sustaining gains, and coaching others in CI behaviors).
Other
  • Prompt and dependable attendance with a willingness to work flexible hours including overtime or weekends as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND QUALITIES

  • Strong leadership, team building, and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage time, delegate, resolve conflicts, and drive accountability.
  • Strong working knowledge of production operations (applicable to assigned area/department).
  • Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office preferred; comfort using data to manage performance.
  • Organized, sound decision-making, coaching mindset, and accountability.

 EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree or higher, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of applicable supervision experience required.
