Responsibilities:

Summary 

The Production Supervisor plans, directs, coordinates, and controls activities of workers engaged in production and supports production related issues in the plant for year-round production and seasonal fresh processing. This position should have a working knowledge of HACCP, GFSI, and other safety and quality systems that are vital to this position.  

 

Essential Functions 

  • Studies production schedules and estimates staffing, duty assignments and inventory requirements in coordination with Production Manager.  
  • Develops a process plan including people, resources, equipment, and floor space.  
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.  
  • Coordinates manpower requirements by increasing or decreasing personnel and overtime to meet changing conditions.  
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.  
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.  
  • Maintains time and production records.  
  • Performs activities of workers supervised.  
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.  
  • Responds to grievances accordingly and works with subordinates, and Production Manager to discuss and eliminate problems.  
  • Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.  
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.  
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Three or more years of experience in a manufacturing production environment with specific experience leading production lines. 
  • HS Diploma or equivalent 

  

Preferred Education & Experiences

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • Supervisorial seafood industry experience. 
  • Experience conducting material variance investigations and identifying root causes of inventory, yield and production discrepancies. 
  • Working knowledge of SAP 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) 

  • Demonstrated knowledge of HACCP, GFSI. 
  • Ability to investigate material variances using a Root Cause Analysis-driven (RCA) approach 
  • Ability to plan, direct, and coordinate activities of workers engaged in production.  
  • Strong knowledge of production, yield and inventory systems. 
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and quality management systems. 
  • Solid understanding of Continuous Improvement principles. 
  • Demonstrated commitment to operational excellence, accountability and data-driven decision making. 

 

Work environment 

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. 

 

Work Ability Requirements

Ability to work around a production line with machinery and moving parts
