Job Title: Production Supervisor (1st & 2nd Shifts)
Location: Leeds, AL 35094 (100% Onsite)
Pay rate: $35.00/hr
Work schedule:
* 1st Shift: Monday – Friday, 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM CST (40.0 hours/week)
* 2nd Shift: Monday – Friday, 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM CST (40.0 hours/week)
(Temporary assignments with high potential to convert to Temp-to-Hire / FTE based on rapid facility growth)
Overview
The Production Supervisor oversees daily manufacturing operations and manages hourly production personnel during 1st and 2nd shifts at the Leeds, AL facility. Reporting through plant leadership, this position drives continuous improvement initiatives aimed at boosting productivity, enhancing operational effectiveness, and minimizing manufacturing costs. The supervisor leads team leads and shop floor employees to achieve safety, quality, service, and output targets within budgetary parameters, while handling daily labor relations, workforce training, disciplinary actions, and operational reporting.
Job Specifications
- Supervise hourly production personnel and direct team lead persons in guiding, assigning, and monitoring daily work activities
- Maintain a flexible, well-trained workforce while managing interpersonal employee relations, work rule enforcement, labor relations, and disciplinary actions
- Drive daily operations to meet or exceed key performance indicators (KPIs) across plant safety, product quality, service delivery, and productivity
- Compile, track, and maintain operational data and production reports using Microsoft Excel, Access, and enterprise software
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering) preferred
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment required
- Demonstrated real-world problem-solving experience and strong verbal and written communication skills required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) required
- Prior experience with welding processes, fabrication, or working in a grinding, finishing, molding, or foundry environment strongly preferred
- Experience working within an ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) and SAP ERP system preferred
- Experience writing and revising standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, forms, and visual aids preferred
