Production Supervisor

Successful candidate will be a production supervisor in general assembly. They will be managing a group of represented hourly employees in the day-to-day operation of vehicle manufacturing.
Successful candidate must perform functions as it relates to safety, people, quality, responsiveness and environmental. These duties include, but not limited to:

• Ensuring quality vehicles are built within the department and non-conformance is followed up on
• Employees time is completed daily for payroll
• Throughput efficiencies and measured and improved upon daily
• Manage cost through scrap reduction initiatives
• Problem solving of issues within the department
• People management and issue resolution between employees and quick grievance resolution
• Education Requirements: Associate’s Degree (4 year degree is not required)
• Years of experience requirement: 2 years of manufacturing experience

Please make sure you're somewhat local – last time they had an opening for this position they received resumes of candidates who were pretty far from the plant and could not make the start time of 5:30AM.

• Manufacturing experience- Looking to see if they have automotive manufacturing experience.
• Union Experience is ideal
• Mechanically Inclined- Candidate will never pick up a tool or part. They need to look at the bolt and determine the size of the bolt and threaded holes and studs. Also, identify fenders etc.. Understand which parts go together.
