Description
Overview:
The Production Supervisor will be expected to supervise operating personnel forsafe,efficient,and profitable operation of the chemical manufacturing area. The incumbent willbe responsible foradministration ofday-to-daymanpower,equipmentand processing needs of the plant site. The Production Supervisor will work closely with all departments to ensuretimelyshipment of quality products,meetingor exceeding customer expectations. Shift workisrequired.
Responsibilities:
Ensuring assigned production area meets or exceeds all safety and quality requirements
Scheduling operations in a manner that prevents delays and efficientlyutilizesmanpower
Ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Procedures in all operations and activities
Exercising proper care intheutilizationof buildings,equipmentand services
Performing simple laboratory tests on samples of in-process and waste materials to ensure proper operation and equipment function
Coordinating operations withMaintenance Departmentto complete scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities for operations area
Makerecommendations to improve yields and reduce waste, labor, materials, maintenance,handlingand other costs
Initiate investigation of production issues and workwithsupport groups toresolveand implementcorrective and preventative actions
Work with Process Engineering and Chemical Development during the implementationof new products in the manufacturing area
Participate in process evaluationswith production superintendents or process engineersas assigned
Qualifications / Skills::
Three or more years of chemical processing/manufacturing experiencepreferred
Prior supervisory experiencebeneficial
Sound written and oral communication skills
Strong computer knowledgein Windows based softwarerequired
DEA background checkrequired
Respirator userequired
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
