Position Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to lead production associates in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This individual will oversee daily production activities, ensure output and quality expectations are met, promote workplace safety, and provide consistent coaching and direction to employees.
The ideal candidate is a visible, floor-focused leader who can adjust staffing and workflow, troubleshoot production issues in real time, and collaborate with scheduling, maintenance, human resources, and plant leadership to improve overall performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct a team of production associates during assigned shifts.
- Provide daily coaching, performance feedback, training, and accountability.
- Monitor production schedules and line output to ensure daily and weekly goals are achieved.
- Adjust staffing, workflow, line pacing, and production sequencing based on operational needs.
- Enforce quality standards throughout the production process and identify defects before they affect finished products.
- Investigate recurring quality concerns and support root-cause corrective actions.
- Conduct pre-shift safety meetings and enforce PPE requirements, OSHA standards, and safe work practices.
- Track and report production results, including completed units, scrap, downtime, attendance, and labor utilization.
- Coordinate work orders, product changeovers, and material availability with the scheduling team.
- Partner with maintenance personnel to address equipment problems and coordinate preventive maintenance.
- Train and onboard new employees while maintaining cross-training records to support workforce flexibility.
- Document attendance issues, performance concerns, and disciplinary actions in accordance with company policies.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives involving 5S, waste reduction, workplace organization, ergonomics, and standardized work.
- Communicate production results, operational concerns, and improvement opportunities to plant management.
Qualifications
- At least three years of manufacturing supervisory experience.
- Experience leading approximately 10–30 production employees in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in a high-mix, labor-intensive manufacturing operation preferred.
- Furniture, bedding, textile, assembly, or related manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Working knowledge of production scheduling, quality control, safety requirements, and Lean or 5S principles.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to provide clear direction, coach employees, and hold team members accountable.
- Ability to document workplace incidents and communicate production data to management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience using ERP, manufacturing, or production-tracking systems is preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, operations, business, or a related field is preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are a plus.

- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to move safely through an active manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to work day, evening, or night shifts based on operational needs.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.
