Location: Bellevue, WA 98005
Pay Rate: $42.00 per hour
Openings: 2
Assignment: Contract with potential for extension
Industry: Food Manufacturing / Dairy Production
Available Shifts
Day Shift: Sunday through Thursday, 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM
Graveyard Shift: Monday through Friday, 9:30 PM to 6:00 AM
 
Position Overview
Our client is seeking two experienced Production Supervisors to lead manufacturing operations within a large, complex, and fast-paced food production facility. This position is responsible for directing production employees, coordinating manufacturing and warehouse activities, maintaining food quality and safety standards, and driving productivity, efficiency, and operational performance.
 
The ideal candidate will bring hands-on leadership experience from a high-volume food manufacturing or mass-production environment, along with experience supervising production employees and applying Lean Manufacturing principles.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, direct, and coordinate daily production activities for the assigned shift
  • Supervise, motivate, coach, and provide performance feedback to production employees
  • Build effective teams, establish accountability, and promote a culture of trust, teamwork, quality, and safety
  • Oversee production processes and ensure established productivity, quality, and operational goals are achieved
  • Ensure products are manufactured in accordance with company, federal, and state requirements
  • Maintain compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, FDA, USDA, HACCP, and other food manufacturing and safety requirements
  • Coordinate activities involving processing, packaging, warehousing, and shipping
  • Schedule production activities and crews as needed
  • Coordinate materials, supplies, and other production resources
  • Plan, delegate, and monitor work assignments and special projects
  • Manage labor, waste, productivity, and efficiency against established financial targets
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to improve workflow and maximize operational efficiency
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and continuous improvement
  • Support plant sanitation requirements and procedures
  • Complete and maintain electronic production and safety documentation using systems such as SafetyChain
  • Troubleshoot production and operational issues and implement appropriate corrective actions
  • Ensure employees follow established safety procedures, manufacturing processes, and quality standards
  • Direct and support employees within a diverse, unionized workforce
 
Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a food manufacturing, food processing, or high-volume mass-production environment
  • 1+ year of experience applying Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Strong understanding of production, manufacturing, and plant operations
  • Experience managing and developing production employees
  • Ability to effectively lead a diverse, unionized workforce
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing workflows, safety standards, quality requirements, and operating procedures
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to learn and utilize additional manufacturing and business applications
  • Willingness to work overtime and holidays as operational needs require
  • Ability to work varying shifts when required
  • Must be eligible to work for an indefinite period without employment authorization limitations
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Operations, Business, Food Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Relevant manufacturing leadership experience may substitute for formal education
  • Experience within dairy, beverage, food processing, or other regulated food manufacturing environments
  • Experience with SafetyChain or similar electronic food safety and quality management systems
  • Working knowledge of HACCP, FDA, USDA, OSHA, and related regulatory requirements
  • Previous experience supervising employees in a union environment
