Job Description:

Job Title: Production Supervisor - Food Manufacturing Work Location: North Houston Area Hours: 6am - 3pm OR 2pm - 11pm FLSA: Exempt, Direct-Hire, Full-Time OVERVIEW: A leading food manufacturer is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Production Supervisor to oversee the daily production operations at its plant in the North Houston area. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager and Production Manager, this role is responsible for supervising production activities, ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards, and enforcing company policies while working collaboratively with other departments and facilities to achieve operational goals. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in food manufacturing, including supervisory experience in a production environment. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required to effectively lead the production team, communicate across all levels of the organization, and support operational excellence. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT ARE LIMITED TO: Demonstrate strong knowledge of food manufacturing operations, production processes, quality systems, regulatory requirements, and food safety standards. Supervise daily production activities to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency goals are consistently achieved. Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment by ensuring current work instructions and production procedures are available and followed. Ensure all production processes comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP, FSMA, and all applicable food safety and quality requirements. Monitor production performance, identify process deviations, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions to drive continuous improvement. Coordinate with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Warehouse, and other departments to ensure smooth production operations and timely resolution of production issues. Train, coach, and develop production employees on equipment operation, food safety, sanitation, quality standards, and workplace safety. Support employee development by providing ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and skills development to build a high-performing team. Promote effective communication between shifts and across departments to ensure seamless production handoffs and operational continuity. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement throughout the production team. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 5 years of experience in food manufacturing, including supervisory or production leadership experience. Bilingual in English and Spanish is required. Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse production workforce. Strong knowledge of GMPs, FSMA, HACCP, and food safety and quality management systems. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, or Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is preferred. Proven ability to lead, motivate, coach, and develop production employees in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
