Position Summary: Responsible for oversight of the production and sanitation activities of hourly personnel to meet production goals, quality and cost objectives. Provides direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance. Key Responsibilities: Plan, organize and delegate work assignment to accommodate departmental schedules and to best utilize manpower and equipment and thereby meeting production efficiencies and striving for continual improvement within departments. Provide direction to Production personnel and monitor job performance. Communicate with personnel on any schedule changes and assist them in resolving production issues to ensure customer orders are completed on time. Effectively coach and counsel Production personnel. Communicate, in a timely manner, with Production Manager, Scheduler and other management staff the status of production progress, keeping them appraised of any issues that may impact order completion. Use shift report to detail issues. Ensure product specifications are met and alert production manager and quality assurance if product quality is in question immediately. Resolve quality issues through training of personnel and enforcement of standards. Knowledgeable in all cleaning, processes and equipment functions, track and resolve labor timekeeping issues. Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of area. Working knowledge of the CIP process. Develop and implement job specific training to all employees, ensure overall conformance with all Company policies, Good Manufacturing Practices, and housekeeping. Ensure all operators are picking and completing work orders in compliance with FIFO as well as completing work orders timely. Ensure allergens are stored in compliance throughout the plant- this includes all dry and refrigerated storage locations. Advocate of safety within the facility. Follows and enforces all safety procedures. Properly investigates accidents, near misses. Create corrective actions to prevent accidents. Safety must be the #1 priority. Keep plant clean and orderly daily. Ensure the plant is always inspection ready. Understand all SQF, IMS, State and general plant expectations for audits. Perform any other duties as directed. Follow all company policies and procedures. Comply with all GMPs, food safety and quality procedure to ensure that food safety and quality objectives are met. Comply with all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment. Report all safety, food safety and quality problems to management. Work cooperatively with team and peers. Skills, Experience & Qualifications: Required 3+years of experience as a front-line supervisor in food manufacturing 3+years of experience in the food industry and knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, SQF Sanitation and CIP Experience Must be able to communicate accurately and clearly both orally and in writing using electronic media telephone and direct contact with internal and external personnel. Knowledge of packaging, equipment and capacity Ability to operate standard office equipment and demonstrate competency in the use of standard software applications. Must be able to fluently speak, understand, write and read in English. Preferred Bachelor’s degree Experience in a Dairy manufacturing environment is preferred. This role is responsible for driving operational performance, ensuring product quality and food safety compliance, supporting employee development, and maintaining efficient execution of daily production schedules. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership experience within a regulated food manufacturing environment and a continuous improvement mindset. Job Duties: Supervise and coordinate daily production and sanitation activities to achieve production targets, quality standards, labor utilization goals, and operational efficiency. Assign and prioritize work across teams based on production schedules, staffing levels, and equipment availability. Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, performance feedback, and development to hourly employees while fostering accountability and engagement. Partner cross-functionally with production leadership, scheduling, quality, and operations teams to communicate production status, identify risks, and address issues impacting delivery timelines. Monitor product quality and ensure adherence to established specifications; escalate concerns and support corrective actions when necessary. Support sanitation execution and maintain knowledge of cleaning procedures, equipment functionality, and Clean-in-Place (CIP) processes. Maintain compliance with GMP, food safety, sanitation, allergen control, housekeeping, and operational standards throughout the facility. Ensure work orders are executed accurately and inventory movement follows established procedures including FIFO practices. Promote and enforce a strong safety culture by conducting investigations, implementing corrective actions, and ensuring compliance with all safety requirements. Support employee onboarding and training initiatives to ensure consistent execution of procedures and operational standards. Maintain audit readiness and support internal and external inspections, including food safety and quality system requirements. Qualifications: Minimum 3 years of front-line leadership experience within a food manufacturing environment. Minimum 3 years of experience supporting food production operations with knowledge of food safety and quality systems. Working knowledge of GMP, HACCP, SQF, sanitation programs, and regulatory compliance requirements. Experience supporting sanitation operations and CIP systems. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to lead teams and coordinate across departments. Experience working with production equipment, packaging operations, and manufacturing capacity planning. Comfortable using standard business software and production reporting tools. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
