Summary

The Production Supervisor position is responsible for supervising employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. The Production Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a safe work environment and compliance with company safety policies.

Essential Functions

1. Ensure effective relations. Provide coaching and development. Makes recommendations regarding employment decisions. Resolve issues through problem resolution.

2. Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Work to continuously improve in all areas.

3. Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to manager.

4. Recognize and mitigate safety hazards in assigned areas.

5. Investigate quality issues and initiate preventive action.

6. Perform accident investigations.

7. Manage department priorities.

8. Approve team member timecards and track absenteeism.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position manages all employees of their designated area and is responsible for the performance of the employees within their designated area of responsibility.

Designated First Responder to provide aid and assistance with respect to any accidents or injuries in your area. Additionally, as a First Responder and due to the nature of the work in the production area, potential exists for cleaning up blood and other potentially infectious material with provided clean-up kits.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to sheet metal sharp edges, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Accordingly, the employee must always wear proscribed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), to include at a minimum cut-resistant sleeves, steel-toed safety shoes or boots, and safety glasses. Additionally, the noise level in the work environment can be excessive at times.

The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

Very little to no travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5+ years of experience in a production environment.
• 2+ years of experience in a production leadership position within the last 7 calendar years (with KCC preferred, elsewhere accepted).
• Experience with Microsoft Excel.
• Strong familiarity with blueprints, CAD drawings / renderings.

Desired Education and Experience

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
• 2+ years of experience as a Welder or CNC I / II operator.
• Strong familiarity with Curb and Adapter products.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable)

Candidates must prove eligibility to work in the US, if requested.
