About the Role
The Production Supervisor at Rusco Manufacturing plays a critical role in overseeing the daily operations of the production floor. This position is responsible for ensuring that production processes run efficiently, meeting safety, quality, and production targets. The Production Supervisor will manage a team of production workers, ensuring that all operations are completed on time, within budget, and according to the company's high standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and motivate production employees across assigned shifts.
- Plan and coordinate daily production activities to meet customer and company requirements.
- Monitor production schedules, staffing, productivity, and downtime.
- Ensure all employees follow company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA requirements.
- Maintain quality standards and address production or quality issues promptly.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, quality, and reduce waste.
- Work closely with Maintenance, Quality, Warehouse, Engineering, and other departments.
- Conduct shift meetings and communicate production priorities and performance.
- Complete production reports, employee documentation, and other required records.
- Address employee performance, attendance, and disciplinary issues in accordance with company policy.
- Promote a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment.
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Previous experience leading hourly production employees.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, safety, quality, and productivity.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret production schedules, work instructions, and procedures.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement is a plus.
