    Description

    The Production Supervisor- Night Shift is responsible for leading daily operations within the Buoy Paint production area, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and employee engagement goals are consistently achieved. This role oversees production personnel in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and serves as a hands-on leader focused on meeting production schedules while maintaining high standards of quality and operational efficiency.

    The ideal candidate will have prior supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting and direct experience working with polyurea coatings, spray applications, or related industrial coating processes. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of production employees within the Buoy Paint department.
    • Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
    • Lead, coach, and develop team members through training, performance management, and continuous feedback.
    • Monitor production processes involving polyurea coating applications and ensure compliance with established procedures.
    • Enforce company safety policies and promote a strong safety culture throughout the department.
    • Conduct production meetings and communicate priorities, expectations, and operational updates.

    • Monitor staffing levels and coordinate labor resources to support production demands.
    • Identify process improvement opportunities to increase productivity, reduce waste, and improve quality.
    • Investigate production issues, equipment concerns, and quality deviations, implementing corrective actions as needed.
    • Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, Shipping, and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of orders.
    • Maintain accurate production records, reports, and employee documentation.
    • Support employee engagement initiatives and foster a positive team-oriented work environment.
    • Ensure compliance with all company policies, environmental regulations, and manufacturing standards.

    Qualifications

    Required

    • High school diploma or GED.
    • 3–5 years of manufacturing supervisory experience.
    • Experience working with polyurea coatings, industrial paint systems, or related coating applications.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced production environment.
    • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Experience managing employee performance, attendance, and productivity.
    • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and production reporting systems.
    • Ability to read and interpret production schedules, work instructions, and quality standards.

    Preferred

    • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
    • Associate's degree or technical certification in Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
    • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or 5S initiatives.
    • Experience in marine, buoy, industrial coating, or composite manufacturing operations.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
    • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to paint, coatings, chemicals, noise, and varying temperatures.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
    • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators and other safety equipment as required.
