Position Description

The Production Supervisor plans, develops, and manages all activities in the manufacture of heat transfer products to meet customer requirements while meeting budgetary objectives. The incumbent must have the ability to implement processes, develop the workforce, and continuously improve productivity output in support of company goals while maintaining a union-free plant environment. The Production Supervisor reports directly to the Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Selects and trains employees to effectively perform their required tasks • Manages the day-to-day operations and area of responsibilities, including but not limited to planning, scheduling, staffing, and machine maintenance to meet customer schedules • Meets or exceeds the assigned annual manufacturing budget • Promotes Lean Manufacturing techniques while promoting and ensuring continuous improvement • Accomplishes annual safety objectives and supports safety initiatives plant-wide through leading by example • Encourages two-way communications and takes positive steps, including recognition, to ensure that assigned workforce know they are valued • Balances manpower with production loads and forecasts • Removes barriers which prevent subordinates from being effective and efficient while promoting positive teamwork • Reduces OEM lead times to a level whereby market share can be increased • Keeps leadership informed of significant problems that jeopardize the achievement of objectives • Meets and exceeds annual objectives provided by BUL Operations • Communicates and aligns objectives throughout designated area of responsibility • Manages assigned operation areas to meet production schedules to assure that products are shipped on time with due consideration for cost effectiveness and quality adherence • Promotes safety and safety accomplishments while working effectively with Safety Committee Members - including recognition where appropriate • Minimizes accidents and strives for an accident-free workplace • Ensures the effective utilization of SAP throughout responsible areas, i.e., accuracy, timeliness, and customized reports as required for operations tracking • Directs manpower training initiatives to accomplish department goals • Initiates visible and productive continuous improvement programs, processes, and ensures conformance to customer requirements • Ensures operations area compliant with EPA, OSHA, EEOC, and other government regulatory agencies • Supports initiatives of Modine Senior Leadership team

Required Education & Qualifications

• BABS degree is preferred • 3 years MFG. experience required • Demonstrated prior experience in SAP and Kronos are a plus in addition to a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
