A chemical blending company is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee manufacturing operations and manage the production staff. The ideal candidate is a results-driven leader with a strong background in production processes, supervisory experience, and a deep understanding of safety and operational compliance. Communicating effectively, the new team member will improve operational efficiency by optimizing staffing and workflows while ensuring high safety standards and achieving production goals.

Type of Position:Direct Hire
Hours: M-F 7:30am-5pm

Responsibilities:
Production Oversight:
  • Direct, organize, and oversee the blending & filling/packaging of chemical products.
  • Ensure production meets established quality and safety standards.
  • Schedule, prioritize, and communicate daily activities to meet demand.
  • Ensure adherence to operating discipline, company policies, and safety regulations.
  • Lead projects to drive safety, quality, and productivity improvements.
  • Maintain clean, secure, and well-maintained work areas.
  • Use ERP system for production planning, scheduling, and inventory management.
Employee Supervision & Staffing Coordination:
  • Evaluate production employees and drive accountability in performance.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and counseling as needed.
  • Maintain accurate work schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • Identify staffing needs and coordinate with the staffing agency to fill open positions.
  • Welcome and onboard new hires, ensuring they receive necessary training.
  • Manage employee relations, address concerns, and resolve minor conflicts.
Communication Management:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for staffing firm leadership, company supervisors and temporary employees.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources to understand staffing and production requirements.
  • Communicate production opportunities, constraints, and overall performance.
  • Attend and participate in management meetings.
  • Prepare reports on staffing, productivity, and attendance.
Safety & Compliance:
  • Conduct regular safety walkthroughs of the production facility.
  • Hold team members accountable for safety compliance.
  • Ensure that all employees are issued and wearing proper PPE at all times.
  • Report and address any worker injuries or incidents promptly.
  • Facilitate initial treatment and reporting for workers' compensation cases.
  • Drive/Accompany any injured employees to clinic for treatment and drug screen.

Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent (minimum)
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in chemical production or related field
  • Strong knowledge of formulating, testing, and inspecting various chemical products
  • Ability to operate and understand production machinery
  • Experience with ERP systems for production and inventory management
  • Competent computer skills, including basic MS Office functions
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities
  • Ability to manage workforce needs effectively and build strong client relationships
  • Quality-focused with strong decision-making skills
