We're hiring Production Supervisors across all Production departments to support our growing weekend operations. Weekend Schedule- 12 Hour Shifts
- Week 1: Friday – Sunday
- Week 2: Thursday – Sunday
The Production Supervisor leads the day-to-day operations of an assigned production department, creating a safe, efficient, and high-performing work environment while developing and supporting frontline team members. This role is responsible for achieving production goals, maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety, and ensuring compliance with cGMP, OSHA, FDA, and company SOP requirements.
Success in this role requires strong leadership, sound decision-making, a continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to motivate teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Mixing
Leads the production of Thorne's nutritional supplements by overseeing the accurate weighing, blending, and preparation of raw ingredients. Ensures product quality, equipment readiness, and adherence to strict manufacturing standards.
Sanitation
Oversees the cleaning and sanitization of production equipment and manufacturing areas to maintain a safe, compliant environment. Ensures sanitation procedures, documentation, chemical handling, and hygiene practices meet FDA, cGMP, and company standards.
Encapsulation
Leads the operation of encapsulation equipment that transforms blended formulations into finished capsules. Focuses on equipment performance, product quality, throughput, and compliance with manufacturing specifications.
Packaging
Oversees the packaging of finished products, ensuring supplements are accurately labeled, sealed, inspected, and prepared for distribution. Drives efficiency while maintaining quality, regulatory compliance, and on-time production.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the day-to-day activities of Production Leads and Operators to safely deliver production goals while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.
- Execute the production schedule by effectively managing staffing, equipment, materials, and workflow to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Monitor production performance, identify obstacles, and proactively resolve issues to keep operations running smoothly and meet customer demand.
- Ensure all manufacturing activities comply with cGMP, FDA, OSHA, and Thorne quality standards.
- Review and approve production documentation, including manufacturing records, cleaning logs, and other controlled documents, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Partner with Quality Assurance and Laboratory teams to quickly investigate, resolve, and prevent quality issues.
- Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing procedures and best practices.
- Monitor production metrics and identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency.
- Maintain equipment readiness and ensure production areas remain inspection-ready and compliant.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to optimize production flow, reduce delays, and support inventory and customer fulfillment goals.
- Build, coach, and develop a high-performing team through ongoing feedback, performance management, and employee development.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure employees receive the training, certifications, and cross-training needed to perform safely and successfully while supporting career growth.
- Lead by example in creating a safe workplace where employees consistently follow safety procedures and properly utilize required PPE.
WHAT YOU NEED
- High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (FDA, cGMP, ISO, or similar) preferred.
Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams in a fast-paced production environment. - Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, raw materials, production equipment, and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), or the ability to quickly develop expertise.
- Strong operational judgment with the ability to balance quality, safety, productivity, and cost while making sound decisions. Recognizes when issues require escalation to leadership to protect compliance, product quality, or business performance.
