About the Opportunity:
Our client is a leading aerospace manufacturing business, producing high-performance transparency materials and parts for the aerospace sector.
Key Requirements:
You will be an experienced manufacturing production leader with a strong background in supervising teams, driving production performance, and maintaining safe, efficient and quality-focused operations.
Role & Responsibilities:
As the 2nd Shift Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading production employees involved in the fabrication and processing of aerospace transparency materials and parts.
Your responsibilities:
- Supervising production employees across daily fabrication and processing activities
- Ensuring department staff have the tools, resources and support needed to meet daily production targets
- Driving productivity goals, operational discipline and employee engagement across the shift
- Supporting and maintaining a safe working environment across the manufacturing floor
- Monitoring and controlling manufacturing costs, including material usage and overtime
- Reviewing, counselling, evaluating and disciplining employees where required
- Leading and supporting 5S initiatives, identifying and eliminating waste across production processes
- Working closely with functional area supervisors and managers to exceed business objectives
- Supporting customer requirements across quality, delivery, cost and inventory performance
- Running the manufacturing floor effectively while maintaining critical KPIs and operational standards
- Supporting lean manufacturing activity and helping embed continuous improvement across production
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years’ leadership experience, or high school diploma with 3+ years’ leadership experience
- Prior experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong people leadership skills, including coaching, counselling, performance management and employee engagement
- Experience driving productivity, safety, quality and operational KPIs within a production environment
- Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to meet objectives around quality, delivery, cost and inventory
- Strong understanding of production processes, cost control, material usage and overtime management
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S and continuous improvement principles
- Aerospace industry experience would be advantageous
- Exposure to AS9100, kaizen events and formal lean manufacturing initiatives would be preferred
