A Production Support Technician provides critical support to manufacturing operations by receiving and scheduling materials, operating powered industrial vehicles (PIV) and other material-handling equipment, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to production areas. This role also supports production goals by performing hands-on line work, maintaining workflow efficiency, and assisting with operational needs to ensure safe, quality, and productive manufacturing processes.
Core Responsibilities:
(Back Up Scheduler) Building daily production schedules for shift production using MRP systems and excel to schedule and create pick lists. Up to 10-15% of time over the course of a month scheduling.
Understanding core axle componentry and how to match up material to schedule based on customer priorities
Conduct start of shift walks to count schedule readiness and base component availability
Communicate with shipping team on schedules and priorities for directions
Work with receiving team to input transacted material to maintain schedule throughout the night
Manage returned tickets to begin MIA process
Brake Line scheduler
Support MIA hunting as back up scheduler
Support Cycle counting activities as back up scheduler: Loose components, brackets, yokes, shafts, brake line components
Manage emails and communication between Main Plant and Warehouse
Back up support for receiving and shipping including PIV responsibilities as well as billing and shipping requirements
Education/Certifications/Experience/Required Qualifications and Skills/ Training:
High School Diploma or equivalent combination of training and education required
Minimum 1 year of experience training or mentoring employees highly preferred
Minimum 1 year of experience working in manufacturing or related industry highly preferred
Demonstrated knowledge and skills to be able to read, comprehend, interpret and apply manufacturing instruction guides
Must communicate clearly and effectively with employees and management
Can effectively work with employees of diverse backgrounds
Operates with honesty and integrity
Physical Requirements:
Manufacturing/Warehouse environment requiring ability to:
Stand, walk, or sit for extended periods
Communicate effectively in person, one-on-one and large groups, via telephone, email, or other modes of communication as necessary
Use keyboard and read from computer screens and reports as necessary
Lift a minimum of 35 lbs.
