Sims-Lohman is a rapidly growing, mid-sized company serving the building products industry, and we are expanding our presence in Central Ohio. We are searching for a Second Shift Production Team Lead with a strong drive to meet safety, people, production and financial goals, by building a team with excellent passion for the customer. Second shift hours are 3:30 PM - 12:30 AM. with overtime as needed. Responsibilities: - Lead the manufacturing operation to produce building products.
- Partner with the Sales team to ensure outstanding customer service. The goal is to fabricate products correctly and install 97%+ of orders on-time without rework.
- Drive the safe operation of employees and equipment.
- Work to ensure people and resources are applied in an efficient and effective manner to meet delivery requirements while achieving quality and safety standards.
- Ensure that team members follow defined manufacturing procedures and comply with quality requirements.
- Ensure all equipment is within calibration, all safety guards and devises are monitored and maintained, and personnel PPE is being used in designated areas.
- Ensure all records are complete and timely.
- Ensure all non-conforming materials are clearly identified and segregated
- Ensure achievement of daily production schedule
Qualifications: - 3+ year’s hands on leadership experience, including the management of people, preferably in a small manufacturing setting where a hands-on management style is preferred.
- Experience in fabrication or manufacturing; building products experience a plus.
- Ability to train new employees to proficiency in safety and operations.
- Proven ability to partner as a successful member of a cross-functional team (sales and administration).
- Exercise considerable initiative and judgement in work methods and in interpreting and delegating work requirements/goals.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to lead by example, gain respect from team and communicate with clarity while demonstrating excellence in your approach to work and people.
