Production Team Lead

Job Summary

This is a hands-on leadership position where an individual will assist the Production Supervisor and act as a highly skilled laser operator. The role involves working as part of a defined workstation team, coordinating work activities, maintaining compliance with procedures, performing quality control checks, acting as a technical lead for first-level problems, moving products in and out of the work area, assisting with training, and assuming a role as a laser operator.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare documents, production sheets, and other required reports and paperwork for the contracting customer.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives and share information with other workstation members.
• Motivate team members to perform to the best of their abilities, assign tasks based on individual capabilities, and ensure task completion.
• Proactively communicate issues to minimize downtime.
• Demonstrate job duties to workers and observe performance to ensure compliance with procedures and safety regulations.
• Encourage the production team to stay on task and meet quality and throughput goals consistently.
• Regularly communicate objectives, expectations, and results to all team members.
• Ensure workers have the necessary materials and supplies to complete tasks.
• Verify and record production work on daily production sheets, transferring data to customer databases or profiles. Ensure timely and accurate daily reports.
• Ensure the preparation of shipment of finished goods to contracting customers.
• Keep the supervisor informed of issues related to contract performance, including potential delays.
• As a Team Leader, communicate worker performance related to quality and quantity for proper recognition in work evaluations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• 3 years of previous experience in production.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical equations.
• A minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Inventory management skills.
