This role performs mechanical, electromechanical, and electrical assembly, conducts in-process and final functional testing, and accurately documents production and test results to ensure products meet specifications.

Working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, the Production Technician collaborates with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Materials teams to resolve production issues, improve processes, and maintain production schedules. This position is responsible for delivering high quality, on-time products while adhering to all safety, quality, 5S, and standard work practices.

What you will be doing:

Production Processes

  • Assemble, integrate, and test mechanical, electromechanical, and electrical components and subassemblies into finished Stratasys systems using engineering drawings, bills of material, and documented work instructions
  • Use hand and power tools, torque equipment, precision measuring instruments, and support applications to complete work orders to specification
  • Maintain accurate records and traceability while keeping work areas organized, safe, and compliant with 5S standards
  • Perform in-process, final functional, calibration, and quality checks to confirm units meet engineering and quality requirements
  • Identify, document, and escalate nonconformances or defects, and support root-cause analysis and rework as directed
  • Accurately record test results and inspection data in production and quality systems
  • Stage and verify materials, components, and kits for production builds, reporting shortages or discrepancies through proper inventory channels
  • Complete production paperwork, travelers, and electronic transactions to maintain accurate inventory and build status
  • Support continuous improvement, Lean, and standard-work initiatives that improve quality, safety, and throughput, and perform other duties as assigned

Equipment Troubleshooting and Test

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a fleet of production test fixtures and associated equipment to ensure reliable operation
  • Diagnose unexpected equipment and process failures using electrical schematics, technical documentation, and hands-on investigation
  • Accurately document troubleshooting activities, corrective actions, and repair history in the organization's maintenance tracking system
  • Partner with cross functional teams to develop, validate, and execute nonstandard testing, prototype evaluations, and process improvements when requested

Preventative Maintenance

  • Plan and execute preventative maintenance activities on production test fixtures and support equipment to maximize reliability and minimize unplanned downtime
  • Regularly monitor the organization's maintenance management system to identify upcoming work orders, coordinate required materials and replacement components, and complete maintenance activities by their scheduled due dates
  • Accurately document completed work, inspection results, and corrective actions within the maintenance management system
  • Balance preventative maintenance responsibilities with day-to-day support activities while proactively communicating scheduling conflicts, resource constraints, or anticipated delays to ensure production priorities and maintenance objectives are achieved

Continuous Improvement Project Work

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, efficiency, and equipment reliability
  • Participate in engineering and operational projects that expand technical knowledge while contributing to fixture enhancements, process optimization, new equipment implementation, and other cross functional initiatives
  • Complete nonstandard testing, data collection, and project work as business priorities and workload permit
  • Projects may extend beyond the employee's current area of expertise, requiring initiative, adaptability, and a willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and processes
  • Demonstrate curiosity, develop innovative solutions, and apply sound judgment to solve new and challenging problems

Must have for this role:

  • Associate's degree in engineering or technical related field
  • 1+ years of hands on assembly, manufacturing, or production experience in a mechanical, electromechanical, or electronics environment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, bills of material, basic software code, and written work instructions
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools, torque and measuring equipment, and basic computer/ERP transactions for production records

Nice to have:

  • Experience building or servicing complex hardware, such as 3D printers, capital equipment, or precision electromechanical assemblies
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement practices
  • Experience working within a quality management system (e.g., ISO 9001) and documenting quality standards
  • Soldering, cable/harness assembly, or electrical test experience

About Company

OVERVIEW

Stratasys Ltd. was formed in 2012 by the merger of Stratasys Inc. and Objet Ltd. We manufacture 3D printers and materials that create prototypes and manufactured goods directly from 3D CAD files or other 3D content. The 3D printers are based on patented FDM® and PolyJet® inkjet-based technologies.

Stratasys systems are used by manufacturers to create models and prototypes to aid in the new product design process. And they are becoming widely used for production of finished goods in low-volume manufacturing. Systems range from affordable desktop 3D printers to large production systems for direct digital manufacturing.

The FDM process creates parts by extruding molten thermoplastic in fine layers to build the part layer by layer. The PolyJet process also creates parts by building in layers but employs an ink jet style jetting process to apply photopolymers in fine layers and simultaneously cures them with ultraviolet light.

Stratasys also manufacturers Solidscape 3D Printers and operates the RedEye On Demand digital manufacturing service. We have over 1000 employees and hold over 500 granted or pending additive manufacturing patents globally. Our range of 120 3D printing materials is the widest in the industry and includes over 100 proprietary inkjet-based photopolymer materials and 10 proprietary FDM-based thermoplastic materials.

Through our network of certified, value added resellers and distributors, Stratasys delivers responsive, regional support around the globe. Stratasys maintains dual headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota and Rehovot, Israel. Stratasys is a public company that trades on the NASDAQ stock exchange under the symbol SSYS.

OUR TECHNOLGIES

Our 3D printing technologies are additive manufacturing at its best.

Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM®)
Prototypes, tools and production parts made with FDM Technology are tough enough to not only test functionality, but hold up under everyday use. Uniquely, FDM uses real thermoplastics like ABS, polycarbonate and ULTEM 9085. The ability to print in these end-use manufacturing materials is the main reason FDM is a highly sought-after 3D printing technology.

PolyJet®
3D printing technology builds precise prototypes and concept models that best mimic how a product will look and feel. Only our PolyJet 3D printers can print multiple digital materials in a single build. That means closer simulation of products and a boost in creativity.

Drop-On-Demand & Smooth Curvature Printing
Most consumer inkjet printers use drop-on-demand technology. Our drop-on-demand 3D printing technology works by depositing up to 12000 droplets per second of a wax-like material onto a build plate in a layer-by-layer fashion to produce wax-like patterns ready for direct casting and other mold making methods of small precision part manufacturing. At 5000 drops-per-inch our proprietary Smooth Curvature Printing (SCP) technology is a jewelry industry favorite. These high precision printers give jewelry designers the freedom to produce creations of the finest feature detail with perfect symmetry and a precise surface finish.
