POSITION SUMMARY
The Cannabis Production Technician is a hands-on manufacturing role responsible for transforming raw harvested cannabis plants into finished dispensary-ready goods. Technicians handle post-harvest processing, product manufacturing (like vape carts or edibles), quality control, and packaging while adhering to strict local and state compliance regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Post-Harvest Processing: Hand-trim or machine-trim dried flower, buck buds from stems, and monitor the drying and curing process to maintain optimal moisture levels and terpene profiles.
- Product Manufacturing: Operate machinery and prepare materials for manufacturing (e.g., portioning concentrates, filling vape cartridges, packing pre-rolls, or assisting with infused edibles).
- Packaging & Labeling: Weigh, package, and label finished goods accurately according to company brand standards.
- Compliance & Inventory: Record production data, track batch numbers, and utilize state traceability systems (such as METRC) to ensure 100% regulatory compliance.
- Sanitation: Maintain a clean, sterile, and highly organized workspace in accordance with OSHA and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Physical Requirements:
- Dexterity: Requires fine motor skills and the use of arms and fingers for repetitive motions and delicate manipulation of cannabis.
- Stamina: Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods while performing repetitive tasks.
- Lifting: Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 40–50 pounds.
Qualifications:
- Age Requirements: Must be at least 21 years old (a legal requirement for the cannabis industry).
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing, production, or handling consumable goods is strongly preferred.
- Soft Skills: High attention to detail, ability to follow strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and the adaptability to pivot between different tasks.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary Range: $16.00 to $17.00 (Actual compensation depends on experience level and demonstrated track record.)
