Production Technician

PURPOSE OF ROLE:

· To lead the safe and efficient production of quality material that meets customer requirements.

Schedule

12-hour rotating shift (Fixed Days or Fixed Nights)

• Day Shift: 5:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Night Shift: 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM

Week 1

• Work: Monday, Tuesday
• Off: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
• Work: Saturday, Sunday

Week 2

• Off: Monday, Tuesday
• Work: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
• Off: Saturday, Sunday

This schedule then repeats every two weeks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Compliance with Standard Operating Conditions (SOC) and Work Package Instructions.

· Move, load and package raw and finished goods as required.

· Ensure quality sample collection, molding, lab testing and SPC data entry to determine product conformity.

· Complete box sheet correctly with box numbers, finished end temperatures, correct weights and indicate whether the box is “Conforming” or “Non-Conforming”.

· Ensure that boxes are labelled correctly – Product ID, correct weights and any other customer requirements.

· Error-free, safe and timely change-overs.

· Keep a clean and safe work area.

· Follow all Quality, Safety & Environmental Procedures.

· Operate a forklift in a safe manner at all times.

· Other duties as assigned by Production Team Leader.

KNOWLEDGE / QUALIFICATONS / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

· Must have high school education or equivalent.

· Required to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedures.

· Required to work proficiently with basic math skills.

· Must be able to follow work procedures.

· Must be able to pay close attention to detail.

· Ability to read, speak and write English efficiently preferred.

· Ability to operate a fork truck.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Must be able to regularly lift 55 lbs.

· Repeatedly reach with hands and arms.

· Climb straight incline ladders.

· Have use of fingers and hands for packaging and writing.

· Must have color vision.
