The Production Worker performs tasks and has knowledge of the manufacturing process. This role will work in various areas of the small cable department, including assembling and inspecting copper cable and wiring components while strictly following safety and procedural guidelines. The production worker can work consistently, quickly, and accurately without compromising quality and production standards.
Essential Functions
- Knowledge of reading production instructions, processes, and procedures, including interpretation and translation of engineering designs and documentation.
- Accurately assemble small cable and wiring components according to specifications.
- Operate and inspect the equipment before use to ensure proper setup and alignment, and perform routine maintenance and adjustments following prints and specifications.
- Knowledge of hand tools, including cutting, crimping, and soldering.
- Maintain logs and records of units produced, including records of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.
- Measure finished parts with precision tools, ensuring function, quality, and compliance with cosmetic specifications.
- Report issues with equipment or materials to the supervisor.
- Abide by OSHA and environmental regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Mechanically inclined with the ability to problem-solve and think analytically.
- Read and comprehend simple verbal and written instructions and work in a team environment.
- Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.
- Understanding of and the ability to abide by OSHA and environmental regulations.
Work environment
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and temperature variations.
- Employees may frequently be required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. They may also lift and/or move up to 35 pounds without help.
- Walking and standing on the Plant floor.
Required education and experience.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
o Completion of on-the-job training may be substituted for educational requirements.
- One or more years of manufacturing-related experience.
