The primary purpose of this position is the production of aluminum plates. This production includes grinding, hammering, and cutting, and the use of power tools, hand tools, machinery, and repetitive motion. Candidates must be able to lift, lower and carry individual plates which can weigh up to 80 lbs. This position also produces aluminum and copper wool, which requires the operation of a lathe.

Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Ladle melted aluminum into molds to produce plates per customer specifications
Finish work on aluminum plates per customer specifications
Set-up and maintenance of molds and machines
Production of aluminum and copper wool per customer specifications
Effectively communicate with supervisor regarding supply inventory and product scheduling
Cross-training and willingness to help in other departments when directed
Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area
Qualifications:
Knowledge and experience using a hand grinder – required
Ability to read a measuring tape – required; ability to easily convert fractions to decimals preferred
Foundry experience – preferred
Welding experience – preferred
Willingness to use power tools & hand tools with repetitive motion – required; experience preferred
Willingness to train and operate a forklift – required; experience preferred
Must be able to lift, lower and carry up to 80 lbs.
Physical requirements: stand/walk for extended periods; navigate stairs & ladders multiple times per day; bend; kneel; twist; work overhead
Must be reliable, have a good work ethic, and have reliable transportation to work
Must be trainable and willing to learn, including ladling melted aluminum & operating a lathe
Must be able to work in hot & cold environments
Must wear safety toe shoes and safety glasses in production areas
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and pass a background check
Job details:
Monday-Thursday, 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; unpaid 30-minute daily lunch break
Occasional mandatory overtime as directed, including weekends
