Job Title: Production WorkerJob Description

This role involves working on a production floor to support panel machine operations by handling materials, assisting with crating, and performing general production tasks. You will operate basic tools and equipment, lift and move heavy materials, and stand for extended periods while helping ensure products are packaged, secured, and prepared for shipment safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities
  • Assist panel machine operators with stacking, organizing, and packaging materials for shipment.
  • Use a steel strapping tool to secure materials and ensure safe, stable loads for transport.
  • Support crating activities in the panel department, including assembling crates and preparing panels for shipment.
  • Operate a forklift after completing required training, following all safety procedures.
  • Use a nail gun and hammer to build or secure crates, pallets, and packaging components.
  • Perform general production and labor tasks as needed to support daily operations.
  • Lift and move materials weighing up to 40–50 pounds throughout the shift.
  • Stand and work on your feet for up to 10 hours per day on the production floor.
  • Communicate professionally with customers who stop by the facility, providing courteous assistance or directing them to the appropriate contact.
  • Work overtime during busy seasons (through October) when needed to meet production demands.
  • Follow all safety guidelines, including proper use of required footwear and tools.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area on the production floor.
Essential Skills
  • Previous machine operation or production experience.
  • Ability to lift 40–50 pounds repeatedly and safely throughout the shift.
  • Ability to stand and perform physical work for up to 10 hours per day.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and comfort working with tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read and use a measuring tape accurately.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
  • Willingness to wear and maintain steel-toe or composite-toe shoes as required.
  • Willingness to learn and operate a forklift after training.
  • Ability to use a nail gun and hammer safely after instruction.
  • Strong teamwork skills and a willingness to assist others on the production floor.
  • Comfort interacting with customers in a professional and friendly manner.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in general labor, general production, or similar manufacturing environments.
  • Prior forklift experience is helpful, but training will be provided if needed.
  • Experience with packaging, crating, or shipping preparation is an advantage.
  • Comfort working in a busy, fast-paced production environment.
  • Interest in developing into higher-level machine operating roles over time.

Work Environment

You will work on an organized production floor where some areas can be moderately loud due to machinery and equipment. The standard shift runs from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with the possibility of future swing shift opportunities; all training takes place during the day. The role requires standing for long periods and handling materials weighing up to 40–50 pounds. You will use tools such as steel strapping equipment, nail guns, hammers, and forklifts (after training), and you must wear steel-toe or composite-toe shoes as part of the required attire. The environment is production-focused, hands-on, and safety-conscious, with overtime available during the busy season through October.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Puyallup, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
