As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA at UPMC Muncy Place, you'll play a vital role in delivering high-quality resident care and support services. This is a full-time, 40-hour position with a 10:30PM - 7AM shift, including every other weekend and holiday rotation. Plus, enjoy a $2,000 sign-on bonus! Working under the direction of nurses or physicians, you will assist with daily living activities, maintain a safe and clean environment, and ensure residents receive compassionate, professional care at all times.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct resident care as directed by RN/LPN, including bathing, feeding, dressing, transporting, toileting, and ambulating.
- Maintain a safe and organized environment: complete safety checks, clean rooms and equipment, change linens, and keep hallways clear.
- Respond promptly to resident needs and calls.
- Assist with meal delivery and feeding; refill water pitchers.
- Perform routine tests such as weights, vital signs, and intake/output.
- Communicate changes in resident status to RN/LPN in a timely manner.
- Acquire and distribute supplies and equipment to support care delivery.
- Participate in unit activities: answering call lights, passing meal trays, transporting residents.
- Apply, monitor, and remove restraints per protocol; provide diversional activities to reduce restraint use.
- Document care in medical records per established procedures.
- Comply with all safety policies, including standard precautions and bloodborne pathogen protocols.
- Respond to emergent situations within CNA scope.

- Communicate learning needs to the unit manager and participate in self-review.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
