Professional Coding Specialist I

Job Summary

Reviews a patient's medical records after a visit or procedure to translate information into appropriate evaluation and management, diagnostic, and procedural codes that insurers use to process claims for the work performed by the provider.

Duties

• Translate medical records into standardized codes for billing purposes.
• Ensure accuracy in coding to facilitate proper insurance claims processing.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, coding standards, and regulations.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to resolve coding discrepancies.
• Adhere to hospital policies and government regulations while performing coding tasks.
