Professional Coding Specialist I

Pay Range - $28/hr to $32/hr on w2

Job Summary

Reviews a patient’s medical records following a visit or procedure and translates the documentation into appropriate evaluation and management, diagnostic, and procedural codes that insurers use to process claims for services provided by the healthcare provider.

• Level I & II: Coder must have proficient knowledge of medical terminology, coding practices, hospital policies, and government regulations.
• Must have clear communication and active listening skills to effectively interact with diverse staff members and departments.
• Position requires strong problem-solving skills to address both straightforward and complex coding concerns.
• Must be well-versed in conflict management and able to remain level-headed and positive during stressful situations.
• Must have strong attention to detail to accurately identify coding and billing errors.
• As an independent worker, this position requires strong organizational and time-management skills to manage workload and maintain productivity.
• Must be adaptable to an ever-changing role with evolving responsibilities. The Coder must be able to collaborate effectively with others and work as part of a team.
• Must be proactive and able to independently prioritize tasks to ensure work is completed accurately, on time, and with minimal supervision.
• Must demonstrate and support Client’s Values through their actions and interactions.
