    Summary:

    Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm- Requirements: RN license, BSN degree & 6 years related work exp - familiarity with American Heart Association courses preferred

    Additional Information:

    The Professional Development Coordinator coordinates the daily workflow of the Nursing Professional Development Team, while incorporating all aspects of the Nursing Professional Development Specialist role. Develops educational opportunities and programs based on participants' identified learning needs. Works collaboratively with the other members of the team, internal and external partners and stakeholders to create a learning environment and education programs that meet individual, department, and organizational goals and facilitate the adult learning process.

    Required Education:

    Bachelor's Degree, Bachelor's Degree Nursing, Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent or Nursing Diploma

    Recommended Education:

    Master's Degree

    Required Work Experience:

    Related Field- 6 years of experience

    Recommended Work Experience:

    Required Certifications:

    Registered Nurse (RN) license- Arkansas or Compact State

    Recommended Certifications:

    Certification specific to patient population, leadership role or education -  

    Description

    1. Coordinates the activities, priorities, and work assignments of the team in a professional and consistent manner.2. Leads collaboration to develop short and long term department goals, and determines resources needed.3. Participates in the development of a financial plan that allocates resources to support the department.4. Creates and role models high standards for education, quality, professionalism, and accountability.5. Synthesizes outcome data from learning needs assessment and other quality indicators to plan, implement, and evaluate educational initiatives and programs to bridge gaps in knowledge, skill, and/or practice.6. Utilizes organizational and nursing strategic plans and goals to determine priorities for education and development.7. Plans programs that are culturally and socially relevant and incorporates concepts of multicultural and multigenerational education.8. Assesses learner characteristics, including learning styles and learning needs for program development.9. Ensures readiness of appropriate learning setting, resources, facilities, materials, instructors, and equipment for planned educational activities.10. Functions as both teacher and facilitator.11. Contributes to the professional development of others and supports life long learning across practice, professional, and educational settings.12. Contributes to nursing and interprofessional practice by supporting, conducting, and synthesizing research and evidence-based practice.13. Monitors classes delivered by departments to ensure adherence to AC standards and guidelines.14. Evaluates course instructors to ensure they are able to perform and teach skills, and evaluate students per AC guidelines.15. Performs other duties as assigned.
