About the Position
\n
Eurocraft is seeking an experienced Licensed Professional Engineer specializing in aluminum window and door systems to lead the development, redesign, engineering, testing, and certification of our product lines.
\n
This is a hands-on product engineering position. The engineer will work directly with aluminum extrusions, hardware, glass systems, manufacturing, prototypes, testing, and certification to take window and door systems from concept through production.
\n
Candidates without direct professional experience developing window, door, curtain wall, storefront, or comparable fenestration systems will not be considered.
\n

Key Responsibilities
\n
- \n
- Design and develop new aluminum window and door systems from concept through production.
- \n
- Redesign and improve existing Eurocraft window and door models.
- \n
- Design, modify, and evaluate aluminum extrusion profiles.
- \n
- Develop complete systems including frames, sashes, interlocks, tracks, glazing pockets, drainage systems, reinforcement, and related components.
- \n
- Select, evaluate, and integrate window and door hardware, including locks, rollers, hinges, handles, operators, multipoint locking systems, and other components.
- \n
- Perform and review engineering calculations related to structural performance, wind loads, component capacity, and system performance.
- \n
- Evaluate extrusion tolerances, fit, clearances, and interaction between components.
- \n
- Create and maintain detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings, assemblies, fabrication drawings, and engineering documentation.
- \n
- Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) and component specifications.
- \n
- Work directly with extrusion suppliers and die manufacturers on new profiles, die corrections, samples, and production issues.
- \n
- Develop prototypes and oversee prototype assembly.
- \n
- Identify failures or weaknesses in existing systems and engineer corrective solutions.
- \n
- Coordinate and evaluate product testing, including:
- \n
- Air infiltration
- \n
- Water penetration
- \n
- Structural pressure / wind-load testing
- \n
- Impact testing
- \n
- Hardware and cycle testing
- \n
- Operational and durability testing
- \n
- Analyze failed tests and redesign products as required to achieve passing results.
- \n
- Review, approve, sign, and seal engineering documents when required and appropriate under applicable regulations.
- \n
- Work with independent testing laboratories, consultants, certification agencies, and regulatory authorities.
- \n
- Support Florida Product Approval, Miami-Dade NOA, ASTM, AAMA/FGIA, and applicable building-code requirements.
- \n
- Prepare and review engineering documentation required for product approvals and certifications.
- \n
- Work closely with manufacturing to ensure designs can be efficiently fabricated, assembled, and produced.
- \n
- Provide engineering support for production issues, field issues, and continuous product improvements.
- \n
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation and revision control for all product systems.

Strongly Preferred
\n
- \n
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
- \n
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Florida.
- \n
- Minimum 5+ years of direct professional experience with windows, doors, fenestration, curtain wall, storefront, or architectural aluminum systems.
- \n
- Strong knowledge of aluminum extrusion design and manufacturing.
- \n
- Experience designing complete window and/or door systems.
- \n
- Strong understanding of structural calculations, wind-load requirements, hardware integration, tolerances, glazing, drainage, sealing, and system performance.
- \n
- Experience developing products that have undergone physical testing and certification.
- \n
- Experience reviewing and preparing engineering documents for regulatory or product-approval purposes.
- \n
- Ability to diagnose product failures and develop practical engineering solutions.
- \n
- Strong proficiency with AutoCAD and 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or equivalent.
- \n
- Ability to create and review production-ready engineering drawings and specifications.
- \n
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability.
