Professional Engineer (Transportation & Public Works)

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Engineering. Must possess a State of Florida Professional Engineer license. A minimum of three years of professional engineering experience to include design is required.

Recruitment Notes

This position is part of the Plans Review Section within the Traffic Engineering Division of the Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW). The position is responsible for reviewing, evaluating, and approving Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plans submitted by private contractors and County departments.

Employees in this role ensure that MOT plans are appropriate for the scope and complexity of proposed construction, roadway, utility, and infrastructure projects and comply with applicable County requirements, traffic engineering standards, and safety regulations. The position works closely with contractors, engineers, utility providers, internal staff, and other agencies to identify and resolve traffic control concerns and help ensure the safe and efficient movement of motorists, pedestrians, and other roadway users throughout construction activities.
