Employee Development Specialist

Location: Renton, WA (100% Onsite – Building 4-21)
Schedule: First Shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM)
Duration: 12 Months (Contract, Possible Extension)
Start Date: ASAP
Pay Range: $45 per hour (W2)
Hours: Full-time
Travel: None (Local onsite role)


Overview

We are seeking a skilled Employee Development Specialist III to support training delivery and workforce development initiatives at our Renton, WA facility. This position focuses on designing, developing, and delivering technical and leadership training programs across multiple disciplines within aerospace manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong instructional design experience, proven facilitation skills, and hands-on exposure to manufacturing, assembly, or production environments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct learning needs analysis and establish clear learning objectives aligned with organizational goals.

  • Design, develop, and deliver course content, instructional materials, and training programs using a variety of methods (in-person, hands-on, and virtual).

  • Facilitate training sessions and workshops in specialized areas such as structural, electrical, quality, or systems manufacturing.

  • Conduct coaching sessions to improve individual and team performance and ensure knowledge transfer.

  • Perform train-the-trainer sessions to qualify and mentor additional instructors.

  • Emphasize safety compliance throughout all training activities and ensure adherence to company and regulatory standards.

  • Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend process or performance improvements.

  • Maintain accurate records of training activities, attendance, and certification progress.

  • Collaborate with leadership and subject matter experts to continuously enhance learning programs and materials.


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing operations or manufacturing support.

  • Proven experience in coaching, training facilitation, or employee development.

  • Experience designing and delivering technical or leadership development curriculum.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and detailed work instructions.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Aerospace Manufacturing or Lean Certification(s).

  • Hands-on experience with structural, electrical, repair, or systems assembly processes.

  • Prior experience as a mechanic or production specialist in a manufacturing environment.

  • Background in needs assessment, job analysis, or instructional design.


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Resources, Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Typically 6+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., Master's + 4 years or 10 years of direct experience).
