Job Description

Professional Land Surveyor (PLS)

Location: Feasterville, PA

Position Type: Full-Time

About Us

We are an established civil engineering and land surveying firm serving clients throughout the region. Our surveying work supports a diverse range of residential, commercial, land development, and construction projects.

We are looking for a Pennsylvania-licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to join our team and play an important role in both our ongoing surveying projects and the continued growth of our surveying services.

This is a hands-on position for someone who is comfortable working independently, enjoys solving technical problems, and wants to have direct interaction with clients and other professionals.

Position Overview

As a Professional Land Surveyor, you will be responsible for performing and overseeing a variety of surveying projects from the initial field work and calculations through completion.

Our projects include:

  • Boundary and property surveys
  • Boundary analysis and calculations
  • ALTA/NSPS surveys
  • Existing conditions and existing features surveys
  • Construction layout and stakeout
  • Subdivisions and land development projects
  • Residential lot surveys
  • Commercial property surveys
  • Flood certifications
  • Survey calculations and plan preparation
  • Construction-related surveying
  • Minor grading and drainage plans
  • Minor stormwater management plans

You will work closely with our existing survey and civil engineering teams and have the opportunity to take ownership of projects and develop relationships with clients.

Business Development

In addition to your technical responsibilities, we are looking for someone who is interested in helping us grow our surveying business.

There is a significant opportunity to expand our surveying services by developing relationships throughout the local real estate, construction, and development communities.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Developing relationships with realtors, builders, developers, attorneys, and other industry professionals
  • Developing relationships with construction companies and contractors
  • Identifying opportunities for property surveys, ALTA surveys, flood certifications, and related services
  • Maintaining and expanding relationships with existing clients
  • Networking with potential clients and referral sources
  • Attending client meetings, lunches, dinners, and industry events
  • Following up with prospective clients and opportunities
  • Generating additional surveying work through your professional network and local relationships

We are not looking for a traditional salesperson. We are looking for a well-rounded PLS who is technically capable, personable, and willing to get out of the office to build relationships and help generate new business.

Qualifications

  • Current Pennsylvania Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license required
  • Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field preferred
  • 5+ years of professional land surveying experience preferred
  • Strong experience with boundary surveys and boundary analysis
  • Experience with ALTA/NSPS surveys
  • Experience with construction layout and stakeout
  • Experience with subdivisions and land development
  • Experience with survey calculations and plan preparation
  • Familiarity with minor grading, drainage, and stormwater management plans
  • Strong understanding of Pennsylvania surveying standards and requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
  • Comfortable communicating directly with clients and other professionals
  • Willingness to participate in business development and networking activities

What We Offer

We recognize the value that an experienced Pennsylvania PLS brings to our organization and offer a competitive compensation package based on experience and qualifications.

This is an opportunity to join an established firm, work on a diverse range of projects, and have a direct impact on the continued growth of our surveying practice.

If you are a Pennsylvania PLS looking for a role where you can combine technical surveying, project ownership, client relationships, and business development, we would like to hear from you.
