The Production Planning Analyst is responsible for developing and maintaining KPI dashboards, analyzing demand trends and forecast accuracy, updating master data, and analyzing inventory levels that align with customer demand, inventory targets, manufacturing capacity, and business objectives. This role collaborates closely with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, Logistics, Sales, and Customer Service teams to ensure efficient production scheduling, inventory optimization, and on-time delivery performance.
The ideal candidate possesses strong problem-solving and analytical skills, expertise in planning systems, and the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations that improve operational performance and customer satisfaction.
Demand and Supply Analysis
" Analyze demand trends, forecast accuracy, and inventory levels to support planning decisions & collaborate with Demand Planning and Sales teams to validate demand requirements.
" Participate in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes.
" Evaluate supply risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions.
" Monitor inventory health and recommend actions to improve inventory turns and reduce excess or obsolete inventory.
Capacity Planning
" Analyze manufacturing capacity, labor availability, and material constraints.
" Recommend capacity adjustments to support business growth and customer demand.
" Support long-range planning activities through scenario analysis and capacity modeling.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
" Develop and maintain planning reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track production performance, schedule attainment, service levels, inventory metrics, and forecast accuracy.
" Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to management.
" Support new product introductions, product transitions, and end-of-life planning activities.
Continuous Improvement
" Identify opportunities to improve planning processes, data quality, and system functionality.
Minimum Required: Must demonstrate working knowledge of problem solving, analytical skills, planning & organizing. Must be very detail oriented, flexible, and able to manage change. Strong communication skills.
Strong computer skills, and skilled with Excel including Pivot Tables, Power Query, Word, Access.
Preferred Level: Skills using SAP, i2 Production Scheduler, MES and/or other Planning applications.
Minimum - Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or related field.
