    Position Description:

    The Department of Anthropology at the University of Louisville invites applications for a tenure-track open rank Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in Biological Anthropology. We seek candidates focused on the areas of forensic anthropology, bioarchaeology, paleopathology, or paleoepidemiology. The successful candidate should be prepared to develop student skills in curricular areas such as human osteology, skeletal forensics, and related topics. In addition, we anticipate that the new hire will assist our Center for Archaeology and Cultural Heritage (CACHe) as necessary. The appointment will begin August 1, 2027.

    Candidates should have an active research agenda, be prepared to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in biological anthropology, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, strengthen our forensic anthropology minor, and participate in departmental activities. Candidates must have completed the Ph.D. by the time of appointment. The hire is contingent on the availability of funding.
