POSITION: (FT) - Professor of Legal Practice
The Wilmington University Farnan School of Law invites applications for multiple full-time faculty positions. These are non-tenure-track positions for Professor of Legal Practice.
About the Wilmington University Farnan School of Law
The Wilmington University Farnan School of Law is a student-centered law school committed to providing affordable, accessible, and practice-focused legal education. Founded in 2022 and provisionally accredited by the American Bar Association, the law school has experienced significant enrollment growth and is expanding its full-time faculty to support its continued success.
We seek faculty who are passionate about teaching, mentoring, scholarship, and service, and who are excited by the opportunity to help build our growing law school. Faculty members are expected to provide outstanding classroom instruction, actively mentor students, contribute to the law school, the University, and the broader community through service, and maintain an active program of scholarship.
Consistent with our mission, full-time faculty typically teach five courses each academic year. Our curriculum emphasizes excellence in developing practice-ready attorneys through innovative, engaging, and student-centered instruction. Formative assessments are used to support student learning and development, alongside experiential learning opportunities that bridge legal theory and practice.
We welcome applications from candidates with a variety of professional and academic backgrounds whose experience will contribute to our educational mission. Applicants must possess a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and demonstrate the potential for excellence in teaching and student mentoring. Strong candidates will have prior teaching experience, significant legal practice experience, or a combination of both. We are particularly interested in candidates who can teach multiple required doctrinal courses within the J.D. curriculum and/or legal writing.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary is commensurate with experience and appointment length. Hours of Employment: Classes are scheduled Monday- Thursday between the hours of 9:00 a.m.- 9:35 p.m. All faculty should anticipate teaching both in the day and evening programs, as needed for the course load. Must maintain a flexible work schedule to meet the needs of the university and the Farnan School of Law. Occasional weekends as needed for special events. Required to attend all Graduation ceremonies, new student orientation, faculty and sub-committee meetings, and Professional Development Day events.
