Professor of the Practice, of Supply Chain Management, Non- tenure track

The Department of Management in the Phillips School of Business at High Point University invites applications for a highly motivated and qualified Professor of the Practice of Supply Chain Management.

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in supply chain management, operations management, project management, global logistics, and related areas. Responsibilities also include advising and mentoring undergraduate students, contributing to curriculum and program development, serving the school and university, and engaging in scholarly research.

The candidate will collaborate with faculty across the Department of Management and the Phillips School of Business. The school supports a broad range of theoretical and methodological perspectives, values collaborative research, and encourages faculty to work across divisions and areas of specialization.

The candidate will lead efforts to expand experiential learning opportunities that connect classroom instruction with supply chain practice. In collaboration with industry partners, the candidate will create internships, company-based projects, site visits, case competitions, simulations, guest-speaker events, and other hands-on experiences that enable students to apply their knowledge. Drawing on professional experience and industry relationships, the candidate will expose students to real-world supply chain challenges and practices, helping prepare graduates to enter and succeed in the profession.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach courses in supply chain management, logistics and distribution, project management, and operations management.
• Develop and expand experiential learning opportunities that connect students with the practice of supply chain management through internships, industry-based projects, site visits, simulations, and engagement with industry professionals. Leverage professional experience and industry relationships provide students with meaningful exposure to real-world supply chain challenges and career opportunities.
• Engage in high-quality research that informs teaching and supports continued knowledge of emerging ideas and developments in supply chain management, logistics, warehousing, and distribution networks.
• Develop and update course materials to enhance student learning. Participate in departmental, college, and university service activities. Collaborate with colleagues on research and academic initiatives.
• Serve on department, school, and university committees and participate in professional or governmental organizations as appointed by the Department Chair and/or Associate Dean.
• Abide by University and School of Business policies.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Department Chair and/or Associate Dean.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have, at minimum, an earned master's degree in supply chain management, business administration, management, or a closely related field. An earned doctoral degree (Ph.D. or DBA) in management, business administration, or a closely related field from an accredited institution is preferred, although ABD candidates will be considered.
• Candidates must have at least 18 graduate credit hours closely related to supply chain or operations management, business management, leadership, organizational behavior, or a related field.
• Teaching experience at the university level is highly preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage in service activities within the university and professional community.

Preferred Qualifications

• A minimum of 7 years' experience in Supply Chain industry.
• A minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership position.
• Experience with online and hybrid teaching modalities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
• Consideration will be given to those with experience in healthcare management and supply chain operations.
