KUNM's mission is to inform, entertain, and engage the community with trusted journalism, exceptional music and vibrant cultural content.
An affiliate of NPR, Native Voice One, American Public Media and Pacifica serving Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Northern Rio Grand Valley, KUNM reaches approximately 85,000 listeners each week in communities throughout central and northern New Mexico, and is recognized for its growing digital and social media audience engagement.
A staff of 25 professionals and 80 volunteers report and produce news, public affairs and entertainment content for a diverse and engaged audience that trusts KUNM and values it as essential. An Auxiliary Unit of the University of New Mexico for 60 years, the station serves as a "front-porch" for New Mexico's flagship institution of higher learning and research.

The Role
KUNM is seeking a Programming & Audience Engagement Director to lead our multiplatform content strategy and help grow engagement across broadcast, digital, social, newsletters, podcasts, and on-demand content.
The Programming & Audience Engagement Director develops, implements, and promotes program schedules, production initiatives, and multi-platform content strategies to support programming quality, audience engagement, and station objectives, as well as overseeing programming, content distribution, and audience engagement activities for the University''s radio station, KUNM.
Reporting to the General Manager, this member of the Sr. Leadership Team ensures compliance with University, FCC, and other applicable regulations; supervises programming and production staff, volunteers, and independent producers; and collaborates with News, Music, and station leadership on related programming and content activities.
This individual will partner with senior leaders in News and Development to ensure organizational strategies in on-air fundraising and community engagement are coordinated and effective.
