Huntersville Parks and Recreation hosts athletic programs for all ages - 3 to 103! We are looking for dynamic staff to assist with programs including, but not limited to:
The program assistant needs to be available during daytime, evening and weekend hours. This position will work under the supervision of the Athletic Manager and Athletic Assistant.
The following duties are those considered most essential to the position. This does not preclude the delegation of other duties considered as necessary by management to successfully complete an assignment or project.
General knowledge of children's developmental and social growth expectations and needs; some knowledge of health, safety, and first aid practices, methods and techniques; skill in working with children, teens, adults, senior adults; ability to establish and maintain standards of behavior; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with parents; associates and program participants. High school diploma or GED. Or a combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, abilities, and skills to complete the essential functions and job responsibilities of this position. Possession of valid North Carolina driver's license. Possession of or ability to obtain first aid, CPR, and AED certifications.
This position's physical requirements involve medium work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects, including the human body. Additionally, the following physical abilities may be required: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, manual dexterity, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, talking, visual acuity, and/or walking. Work has frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. recreation center).
