The College of Nursing is currently seeking a dedicated individual with a passion for helping others learn and grow to join our team as Program Assistant I. In this role you will serve as a key administrative resource for several areas with the College of Nursing.

The College of Nursing has a long history of exceptional nursing education, and this is recognized through its designation as a Center of Excellence in Nursing Education by the National League for Nursing. Nursing's history of excellence, innovation, and achievement across its graduate, undergraduate and continuing education programs provides an excellent foundation for growth and innovation and lifelong learning.

This position is located in Brookings, South Dakota.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced administrative and operational support to the Dean's Office, Population Health Evaluation Center/Office of Nursing Research, and Healthcare Simulation Center.
  • Coordinate complex reporting processes and ensure timely, accurate submission of required reports.
  • Manage and maintain policies, procedures, and related documentation.
  • Oversee data integrity and quality assurance processes to support accreditation, compliance, and reporting requirements.
  • Support accreditation and regulatory compliance activities across multiple areas of the College of Nursing.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and leadership to address operational needs and improve administrative processes.
  • Assist with the planning, coordination, and implementation of initiatives that support the growth and effectiveness of College of Nursing operations.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Strong written communication skills, including business writing, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and proofreading skills.
  • Modern office practices, procedures, and equipment.
  • Database management principles and computer systems/software applications, including simulation-related systems and technologies.

Skill & Ability to:

  • Communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively in both verbal and written formats.
  • Provide superior customer service, responding to unique circumstances and route questions.
  • Manage confidential information.
  • Accurately record, maintain, file, transmit, and research information and data.
  • Organize, coordinate, and prioritize multiple activities and projects while meeting competing deadlines.
  • Exercise sound judgement, solve problems independently, and formulate logical conclusions based on available information.
  • Learn and effectively use computer systems, software applications, and office equipment.

Requirement:

Valid driver's license or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
