Job Summary

PBS Utah, KUER 90.1 and Avanza 88.3 are seeking a 30 hour per week Donor Services Assistant to join our team. This benefited position will serve as a primary point of contact for all station donors, viewers, and listeners.

The position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing excellent customer service to audience members inquiring about programming and donors with questions about their membership, processing donations, providing technical support for PBS Utah Passport streaming service, station apps, and other methods of program distribution, utilizing databases to access and update member accounts, entering donations and pulling reports. Assist in promptly responding to phone calls, emails and incoming and outgoing postal mailings to members. May assist with additional fundraising activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service to station's audience and members via phone calls, email, direct mail and in-person communications
  • Work closely with station staff to answer inquiries about programming and troubleshoot reception and/or technical issues
  • Work with new software, Excel, Word and Google docs.
  • Provide support and assistance to the PBS Utah Donor Services office by processing, and updating member donations and records
  • Work closely with the Utah Public Media development team to handle other responsibilities within the Donor Services department
  • May be asked to help participate to staff in-person events for the station.
  • Be knowledgeable about all three stations programs and schedule
  • Be prompt and consistent with attendance, punctuality, and assignment completion
  • Follow all University of Utah charitable guidelines to ensure proper handling of donors, data integrity, and PCI Compliance

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree in a related field, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience), plus two years of related experience required; ability to use logic and reasoning to prioritize tasks; computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet software, and/or database software preferred; demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills also required.

Bachelor's degree in a related field may be preferred.

Department Specific Qualifications:
  • Word processing, data entry, and/or customer service experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel.
  • Experience with Google Suite.
  • Efficient typing skills and speed (45+ WPM).
  • High level of professional courtesy and communication skills
  • Ability to use time and resources effectively and efficiently.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Lifting up to 30Ibs, carting up to 200 lbs.
