Duties

Under general supervision, is responsible for monitoring and coordinating the day-to-day office activities of the program(s) including providing services and program information to staff and students. The Program Assistant is dedicated to the learning college concepts by developing programs and facilitating activities that promote student success and lifelong learning.

Essential duties may include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Provide information to students and faculty/staff concerning program and promote/market program.
  • Coordinate communication system including computer database and maintain accurate records for program.
  • Maintain and update program registration information for students and faculty/staff.
  • Compile periodic reports or other departmental materials required including gathering, analyzing data, and generating reports.
  • Prepare letters, memos, documents, brochures, and/or reports from copy or rough draft following standard procedures as to composition some of which may be confidential in nature and maintains files.
  • Proof content of syllabi and course schedules and/or program materials.
  • May attend meetings and record minutes.
  • Process and follow through with purchasing and payment requests made by the office.
  • May enter applicable time sheets for approval and assist with proctoring duties.
  • Responsible for room reservations/monitors and schedules program space.
  • Performs a variety of duties that are specific to the office of assignment and that require knowledge of the procedures, functions, and software programs used by that office.


Education/Experience

Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
Experience: Minimum of three to twelve months (1 yr) related experience and/or training required.


Qualifications

The Program Assistant must have the ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos; have effective communication skills; the ability to work independently and be self-directed; able to type 40 words per minute; must have computer and Microsoft Office skills; good organizational skills; plus other duties as assigned.

Hours may be adjusted
Some evening or weekend hours may be required to support programming.

Salary/Wage
$19.25/hour - plus exceptional benefits
