PURPOSE

Provide leadership for the development, implementation and maintenance of specific instructional programs and initiatives for the district. Collaboratively creates tools, resources, and programmatic supports to align and improve instruction and systems district-wide. Provide professional learning, support, and coaching/modeling to teams and individuals regarding effective teaching and learning techniques, data analysis, and teaming structures.

The Program Associate in the Curriculum & Instruction Department supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Salem-Keizer Public Schools' K12 mathematics and literacy programs. This position requires expertise in curriculum-based and interim assessment systems, including OSAS, as well as evidence-based instructional practices in mathematics and literacy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support district initiatives, projects, and program implementation related to curriculum, instruction, assessment, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Program Associates, school leaders, and district staff to align instructional supports, professional learning, and district priorities.
  • Design, facilitate, and deliver professional learning for teachers, school leaders, and district teams.
  • Support effective implementation of district-adopted curriculum and instructional practices across schools.
  • Analyze assessment and instructional data to identify needs, monitor progress, and develop strategies to improve student outcomes.
  • Support schools and professional learning communities in the effective use of formative, interim, and curriculum-based assessments.
  • Develop resources, tools, and systems that promote instructional coherence and continuous improvement across the district.

Salary is prorated based on FTE: $52,011 $102,373 (Pro-rated differential based on FTE up to $6,059 - subject to change) (Salary is based on the 2025-26 schedule and is subject to change)
