This role requires a high-level professional to oversee the full lifecycle of financial management for complex defense-related programs, with a focus on hardware integration, contract compliance, and rigorous project performance tracking. This position is designated as a contract opportunity expected to last 3+ months with the potential to convert to a perm employee.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the end-to-end financial lifecycle, from program initiation and planning through to execution and final sustainment.
  • Direct complex financial planning and forecasting across various contract vehicles, including Firm Fixed Price (FFP), cost-plus, and Time & Materials (T&M) agreements.
  • Maintain project baseline budgets and conduct regular Estimates at Completion (EAC) updates to identify and explain significant performance variances.
  • Facilitate cost, schedule, and performance integration, including support for Earned Value Management (EVM) where required.
  • Conduct rapid scenario analysis to support high-level business decisions and present findings directly to executive leadership.
  • Optimize cash flow performance by managing program milestone billing schedules and ensuring timely revenue recognition.
  • Oversee comprehensive financial reporting, including tracking by CLIN, material expenditures, and other reimbursables.
  • Ensure stringent compliance and audit readiness, serving as the technical authority on government reporting and internal fiscal policies.

Qualifications/Background Profile:
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in financial management within large-scale defense or federal contracting environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; extensive professional experience may be considered as an equivalent.
  • Deep expertise in cradle-to-grave financial oversight, specifically for Firm Fixed Price (FFP) hardware systems moving from development into production.
  • Advanced competency in EAC management and financial analysis for multi-year, complex programs.
  • Technical proficiency in industry-standard tools such as Deltek Costpoint, TM1, and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong understanding of DoD program reporting requirements and the transactional mechanics between balance sheet and P&L statements.
  • Proven ability to lead collaboration across Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and engage effectively with senior stakeholders.
