mPower is looking for a well-rounded Program Coordinator to join our team. Our team consists of experts and professionals who have experience in management, administration, consulting, and technology. This position seeks to implement positive mission-oriented change, to deliver tangible operational results, and to build and continuously improve the organization. 
 
 
 
 

Job Responsibilities

Portfolio Organization, Analysis, and Management 

  • Assist in organizing strategic initiatives such as the Biomaterials Network. 

  • Support program evaluation and analysis. 

  • Track award milestones and subprojects. 

 

Meeting Support 

  • Provide Executive Secretary assistance for agency working groups related to bioeconomy, nanotechnology, and microelectronics. 

  • Assist with executive meetings concerning Extramural scientific programs. 

  • Offer administrative and technical support in planning, coordinating, and executing data calls. 

  • Prepare meeting materials, including agendas, minutes, and action items; maintain a document repository. 

 

Content Development and Scientific Communication

  • Provide support to Program staff in communicating programs, partnerships, and policies to stakeholders.

  • Draft slide decks for presentations at conferences and meetings.

  • Develop content for Council meetings and generate reports highlighting accomplishments.

 

Scientific Program Research and Evaluation

  • Research and evaluate scientific programs.

  • Request and provide information on scientific and programmatic issues.

  • Interpret and summarize background materials from scientific sources.

 

Project and Task Management

  • Assist with the development, initiation, and execution of new project initiatives.

  • Track action items, provide deadline reminders, and maintain relevant spreadsheets.

  • Develop milestones, budgets, and funding plans for projects.

 

Data Management and Reporting

  • Design, develop, and maintain databases, listservs, spreadsheets, and electronic resources.

  • Collect, interpret, analyze, and condense material; prepare reports of data analysis.

  • Create graphs, tables, slides, and presentations for scientific and programmatic purposes.

  • Prepare technical reports, progress reports, and status updates.

 

Meeting and Event Logistics

  • Plan and coordinate scientific meetings, conferences, symposia, workshops, and special projects.

  • Handle logistics, communications with participants, and registration for meetings.

  • Represent the Program at local and national meetings, delivering presentations and collecting valuable information.

 

Communication and Coordination

  • Maintain proactive communication with key personnel and external stakeholders.

  • Design and coordinate systems for efficient information flow between stakeholders and staff.

  • Update and maintain internal websites and SharePoint sites related to scientific program.

 

Program Improvement and Efficiency

  • Analyze business and operating procedures; propose and implement more efficient methods.

  • Conduct project close-out reviews and identify areas for improvement.

  • Develop new formats and databases for reporting program management and budgetary data.

 

Administrative Support

  • Provide day-to-day support to program staff and leadership, including setting priorities and managing tasks.

  • Organize, analyze, and write project reports and scientific papers based on results and findings.

 

 

 

 

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a scientific discipline, such as bioengineering, biomedical/chemical/materials/electrical engineering, biology, chemistry, or physics; two (2) years of specialized experience plus a bachelor's degree is equivalent to a Master's degree.

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written;

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in a related field;

  • Skill in data analysis, preparation of spreadsheets and Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint);

  • Ability to produce graphical and tabular representations of complex data for presentation and use by program staff;

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, time, and project management skills;

  • Ability to multi-task and pay close attention to detail;

  • A proven record of self-motivated achievements will be a positive asset.

 

$65,000 - $80,000 a year
