Pay:  $22.20 - $26.64 per hour ($46,176 - $55,411 annually)
 
Schedule:  Full Time, Non-Exempt (40 hours/week)

Program Overview: The VOA Illinois SSG Fox Veteran SPACES program provides suicide prevention education to community members and organizations with the overall goal of creating a more aware community that is able to recognize the signs and symptoms of suicidal ideation and react appropriately to connect at-risk individuals to immediate assistance.
 
Position Summary: The Program Coordinator is responsible for providing day-to-day operational, logistical, and administrative support. This position serves as the primary coordinator for program scheduling, transportation logistics, event implementation, inventory management, and operational communications, ensuring that veterans have seamless access to services, outreach activities, and community engagement opportunities.
 
Work Environment & Schedule:  
  • On-site Monday through Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
  • Community-based travel required
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Physical demands include sedentary work, computer use, and frequent communication with clients, colleagues, and partners involved in client support.
What You’ll Do:
  • Coordinate daily program operations including scheduling, logistics, materials preparation, supply management, and multi‑site calendars for the SSG Fox Suicide Prevention Program.
  • Manage transportation and vehicle operations by scheduling rides, maintaining vehicle records, ensuring inspections and compliance, tracking usage, and coordinating maintenance.
  • Plan and execute program events such as wellness activities, outreach campaigns, workshops, resource fairs, and volunteer events, including vendor coordination, setup, registration, supplies, and evaluation.
  • Provide administrative and reporting support through documentation management, meeting preparation, data tracking, budget monitoring, purchasing, invoicing, and monthly operational reporting.
  • Support community engagement and outreach by assisting with presentations, partner communication, veteran recruitment, and representing the program at community events.
  • Maintain program data and compliance by tracking participation, transportation, events, partnerships, and ensuring adherence to organizational policies, grant requirements, safety protocols, confidentiality, and documentation standards.
Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Social Services, Nonprofit Management, or related field required; or Veteran status
  • Minimum two years of experience in program coordination, logistics, operations, event planning, or nonprofit administration
Preferred:
  • Experience with Veterans or community-based organizations
