Advertised Job Summary

The Department of Exercise Science is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Program Coordinator to support the successful implementation of several Arnold Healthy Kids Initiative research projects.

Working under general supervision, the Program Coordinator will coordinate the day-to-day operations of the studies by assisting with project planning, participant recruitment and retention, staff coordination, data collection activities, and regulatory compliance. The position plays a key role in maintaining project timelines, monitoring study quality, preparing Institutional Review Board (IRB) materials, and tracking research progress. The Program Coordinator will collaborate closely with investigators, research staff, and community partners to ensure projects are conducted efficiently, meet established milestones, and adhere to study protocols and regulatory requirements.

This position is ideal for a collaborative professional with strong organizational, communication, and project management skills who is passionate about supporting high-quality research.

Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in a job related field and 1 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Expertise in the use of computers and the Internet.
  • A working knowledge of the Microsoft Office package.
  • Experience or interest working with young children.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and ability to effectively interact with parents, community partner personnel, children, and the community at large.

Job Duty

Develop, in coordination with study PIs, recruitment and retention protocols and procedures for research studies related to public health programs. Development of protocols will lead to the preparation and submission of Institutional Review Board (IRB) materials to the University's Office of Research Compliance. Train and evaluate data-collection staff on the protocols and procedures.

Coordinate and manage day-to-day activities of assigned research projects, with an emphasis on recruitment, retention, and data collection, to maintain continuity of the project and ensure all milestones are met appropriately and promptly.

Supports the coordination of staff work assignments to help ensure timely completion of data collection and participant communication activities. Maintains organized project documentation and assists with preparing and submitting regular updates to the funding agency.
