The Program Coordinator at the Dartmouth Center for Social Impact (DCSI) works to advise, train, and guide students, coordinate events and program logistics, and work as part of a team to educate Dartmouth students to be transformative leaders in our community.

The Program Coordinator will play a critical support role for a portfolio of community-engaged learning programs and will have the opportunity to manage some projects independently. This position plays a vital role in partnering with the nonprofit community to carry out programs that are designed to improve outcomes for Upper Valley communities while also supporting undergraduates to cultivate their skills, scholarship and passion for the common good.

Description Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp Bachelors plus 2-3 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • One or two years of work experience within the social sector or education (experience as a student will be considered).
  • Interest in and commitment to service, social impact and the common good.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to plan and prioritize work.
  • Relevant experience working with high achieving college-age students.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to tailor communication to various stakeholders.
  • Proficient with computer applications (Word, Excel, Internet, Database Management, etc.).
  • Experience with event and project coordination.
  • Must have a valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Individual must be able to walk moderate distances to access vehicles and programming and lift 20 pounds to accommodate program supplies and occasional snow removal on vehicle fleet.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with youth development, mentoring and/or education programming in the nonprofit or social sector. Familiarity with best practices in community-engaged experiential learning is a strong advantage.
  • Knowledge of, and commitment to, the social sector and nonprofits.
  • Training, teaching or facilitation skills.
  • Strong self-awareness, interpersonal and collaborative abilities; demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Key Accountabilities

Description

  • Provides programmatic coordination, and logistical support for a portfolio of co-curricular community-engaged learning programs including program planning and logistics, event management, risk management, assessment, student recruitment, student training, and reflection.

Percentage Of Time 40 Description

  • Manages and oversees DCSI vehicle fleet and driver training processes including setting and implementing vehicle policies, managing compliance with college approved driver process, executing vehicle scheduling, collaborating with college vehicle rental vendors, and scheduling and tracking vehicle maintenance.

Percentage Of Time 30 Description

  • Advise, guide, and connect students interested in addressing social sector issues and social justice to appropriate opportunities, both on-campus and in the community. Coordinates relationships with community agencies to provide referral access to volunteer opportunities for students.

Percentage Of Time 20 Description

  • Builds and cultivates relationships with various stakeholders (students, alumni, community partners, staff, faculty). Collaborates to develop and execute events and outreach to increase knowledge of the Center and social impact opportunities.
